Tomorrow is the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, one of the most famous saints of the Church. He chose to live a poor man’s life in order to imitate Christ to the full. When he lacked for people with whom to share the Gospel, St. Francis preached even to the animals… at least those who would listen! So, it is a custom to bless our animals on the feast of St. Francis. I’ll be offering a special blessing for your pets in the back yard of the Rectory at 1pm tomorrow. Bring your critters… just don’t let them bite!
